
Prof. Dr. Christoph Flückiger is a psychologist, licensed psychotherapist, and supervisor currently serving as Professor and Head of Clinical Psychology at the University of Kassel (Germany), where he co-directs the affiliated outpatient clinic. He is the President-Elect of the International Society for Psychotherapy Research (SPR) and an expert speaker at psychological therapy institutes across Europe.
His previous academic appointments include post-doctoral work at the University of Wisconsin (USA) and faculty positions at the University of Zurich (Switzerland). From 2009 to 2024, he is a key member of the APA Task Forces on Alliance in Adult Psychotherapy and Strength-Based Methods, contributing significantly to the development of therapeutic alliance and common factor models.
With over 250 empirical and conceptual publications, his research specializes in psychotherapy effectiveness, transtheoretical common factors, and process quality.
